Aggravating

Paulie at InsideThePerimeter brought up a very valid point today, something that has been on my mind for a while, the explosion of blogs in atlbloggers.net. Don’t get me wrong, it’s still a great site to catch up on the comings and goings of the APWBWGTTD but the front page is becoming a bit chaotic, and the feed isn’t much better…

I Can’t Drive 55…

Driving at 55 on I-285. Some crazy kids decide to go by the speed limit on I-285… For those who don’t know, I-285 is the perimeter that circles Atlanta, and in Atlanta, the speed limit posted is merely a suggestion, we just usually drive at speeds according to what interstate we’re currently on… 75, 85… 285.

The IT Crowd

Watch all The IT Crowd episodes online. Handy as Channel 4 shut out us non-UK residents, I’ve only watched a couple of episodes so far and it looks promising.

Crackberries…

Blackberry manufacturer, Research In Motion, wins a stay of execution in the court case against NTP meaning the Blackberry service stays online for the time being. Ahhh, another patent gone wild, how long until the USPTO gets the right idea and revamps the patent system?

Gonna Fly Now…

For the last few weeks now, I’ve pretty actively been looking for gainful emplyment while I wait on the immigration status to move forward, and after applying for a position at a large company (I’m not naming names right now) I’ve got a fair amount of positive remarks back from them in a very short space of time. And today was to be the much dreaded phone interview, so I needed some inspirational music to pump me up while I waited on the phone to ring…

Another Frivolous Patent Awarded

Balthaser Online, Inc scoop up what could potentially be the patent of the future of the Internet as we know it after the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office has granted it a patent for the design and creation of rich-media services over the Internet. Balthaser apparently intends to license the patent to companies that deliver rich-media services over the Web using technologies such as Adobe Systems’ Flash, AJAX and Java.

Netflix Throttling

Yes, Netflix throttling is in full effect here, thankfully an abundance of TiVo’d programmes has made me nearly forget about the small (read 16 items) queue I had waiting for me…

Rangers 2 - 2 Villarreal

Rangers 2 - 2 Villarreal. A cracking game to listen to, full of thrills and spills, Løvenkrands goal sounded like an absolute screamer. Now just to sneak a 1-0 in Spain…

2006 NBA All-Star Dunk Contest

The 2006 NBA All-Star Dunk Contest. You know what, with Nate Robinson’s 74 missed attempts edited out, it was actually not that bad… Andre Iguodala was still cheated out of the win though.

Bode Miller States the Obvious…

Bode Miller laments on his Olympic failure, “If things went well I could be sitting on four medals, maybe all of them gold.” You know, if things went well for me I could be sitting on 257,985 medals, maybe all of them gold too…

Gmail + Talk Spying On Me?

I like Google Mail, but I don’t use it as my main email account. I only use it for mailing lists and things I don’t want my main mail account to touch, but now it’s become a bit obtrusive… Before I begin I must say I do use Google Talk, not very often, but often enough to warrant it open alongside MSN for most of the day…

No Smokes

As a quick follow up to the cigarettes in the last post, Robyn tried to buy a pack in Publix yesterday (before you ask, she left the pack I bought in the car while it was getting worked on) and she was carded, but a bit of confusion left her drivers license at home… So they wouldn’t sell her them.
